Green ’16: For the Average Joe

If you’re anything like me, you probably knew a lot of people growing up who didn’t give much credence to living a green lifestyle. They thought global warming was a government scheme and hated paying extra each month for a blue recycling bin… and many a time it seemed to be because they just weren’t fond of a certain type of people or political party.

Luckily, my parents were never totally like that. Even though I was raised in a recycling household, I wasn’t taught other ways to help our planet through everyday practices. It takes a tiny bit more effort, and sometimes that little step is hard to get used to taking. So here’s some ways that you and me — “Average Joes” so to speak — can start to go green in 2016.
